A right Royal celebration sees Seven Seas Explorer – claimed to be the most luxurious ship ever built – christened by Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco in Monte Carlo tomorrow.
Joining Princess Charlene for the christening celebrations is the world-renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli who will sing for the élite guests.
australiancruisingnews.com wonders if Princess Charlene or Andrea Bocelli will be joining Seven Seas Explorer’s 10-day maiden voyage so that they can enjoy the luxury appointments on board and the top-end ports visited during the cruise.
Sailing from Monte Carlo to Venice, Seven Seas Explorer will call into the ports of St Tropez (France), Mallorca, Ibiza, and Barcelona (Spain), as well as Sicily (Italy) and Croatia, before her final destination in Venice.
If Princess Charlene or Andrea Bocelli is on the cruise, chances are one of them will occupy the one-of-a-kind Regent Suite on board as it covers 4000 square feet – making it as big as a house – with two bedrooms, living and dining rooms, black marble bar, crystal chandeliers, and requisite Steinway grand piano. The suite sits on the ship’s top deck with panoramic front and side views.
The suite also even has a spa retreat with sauna and steam room and comes with unlimited spa treatments for the lucky guest. Needless to say, there is always a butler on hand, and a private car and chauffeur at the ports of call.
And all that for around $5000 a night, give or take a few dollars.
Seven Seas Explorer – she carries 750 guests – is the fourth ship in the Regent Seven Seas Cruises fleet, rssc.com
